Introduction: The Employment Screening Resources® (ESR) Online Safe Hiring Certification Training Course was created by ESR Founder and CEO Attorney Lester Rosen. The course content is mostly based on 'The Safe Hiring Manual' by Lester Rosen.

 

HRCI Credits: The entire course is approved for 20 (HR (General)) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). The use of the HRCI seal is not an endorsement by the HR Certification Institute of the quality of the program.  It means that this program has met the HR Certification Institute's criteria to be pre-approved for recertification credit.

 

SHRM Credits: Employment Screening Resources (ESR) is recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the Certified Professional (SHRM-CP™) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP™). The entire course is approved for 20 PDCs toward SHRM-CP™ and SHRM-SCP™ certifications through the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge™ (SHRM BoCK™).

 

Course Units: The course is divided into seven units covering critical areas of employment background checks: Unit 1 - Introduction to Safe Hiring Program (SHP) ($75 - 3 HRCI credits / 3 SHRM PDCs); Unit 2 - Legal Considerations Of Safe Hiring ($75 - 3 HRCI credits / 3 SHRM PDCs); Unit 3 - The Application, Interview & Reference (AIR) Process ($62.50 - 2.50 HRCI credits / 2.50 SHRM PDCs); Unit 4 - Basics of Employment Screening ($75 - 3 HRCI credits / 3 SHRM PDCs); Unit 5 - Criminal Record Background Checks ($75 - 3 HRCI credits / 3 SHRM PDCs); Unit 6 - Additional Background Screening Tools ($75 - 3 HRCI credits / 3 SHRM PDCs); and Unit 7 - Drug Testing & Other Screening Issues ($62.50 - 2.50 HRCI credits / 2.50 SHRM PDCs).
